What is Bristol2Beijing?

In 2018, Luke was diagnosed with stage IV cancer at the age of 24. Against the odds, after treatment, he began to fulfil his dream of cycling around the world, starting by cycling from Bristol to Beijing on a tandem bicycle to show the world what is possible with a diagnosis of cancer.

Bristol2Beijing in London

Luke cycled 27,000km with over 300 people joining on the back of the tandem across Europe and Asia, but was unable to cross the border between India and China due to Covid. Having got as far east as he possibly could in India, 3,300km from Beijing, Luke returned to the UK and pedalled the remaining distance on a stationary turbo trainer at various locations in London between 19th May and 17th June 2022. He then cycled from London to Oxford, Bath and finally Bristol for the grand finale celebration on 19th June 2022.
